As part of the ever-ongoing process of getting things together and finalizing this comic project that has taken the bulk of the past year (and will go forward for another year), I’ve made good on launching the site here. For the time being, I will be using this as a sort of communication spot to keep anyone interested updated on…
- Progress on the Ronin Saga: The Nihilist project. This will include a smattering of illustration updates, anything potentially interesting (source images, the like), events announcements, and the slightly-more-formal things, like progress on the “business” side of things.
- Other Art Updates. I’ll be using the blogspace here to also bring in other news that I find to be relevant, so you may find the occasional review of a show, notes about other projects outside of the comic/graphic-novel space, and the like.
- Additional Creative Work Pages. I will also continue to update and populate the site with samples of work from my personal practice, each with their own space apart from the comic work that has dominated my creative time. Samples of prints, paintings, videos and the like can be found on the above menus. Any subtext/context that I might choose to add with regards to any such work will likely show up on the blog, rather than among the galleries.
In time, I plan to draw a line between these two aspects, at which point I will develop a separate page for the comics side of things. Why ever would I do that? Yes, for one, I do believe that the different work herein speaks to often (though certainly not always) separate audiences. More importantly, I would like to gauge my progress on the comics/graphic-novel front and, as I get involved with more people, I would like to have a stand-alone space that speaks to their hard work, and drives those projects forward free of the clutter of my personal practice. There are a few business/legal pieces getting put into place where that’s concerned; to learn more as it develops, stop on back!
